This afternoon we had lots of fun playing board games and raising money to help children who are not as lucky as we are. As you can see we had a great time and it was fantastic to see so many of our parents and grandparents join in with the fun. Thanks to everyone that came along and all that made a donation, helping to make the day such a success.
Next week in Year 5 we are having themed week linked to our history topic of ‘the Vile Victorians’. We will be looking at different things linked to the Victorians including: The works of L.S Lowry, Street Child (Berlie Doherty) and 3D sculptures.
We will be undertaking lots of art related projects, writing our own biographies, diaries and newspaper reports and also learning a song about Lowry and his matchstick men!
Today we have split into groups and have started to research and plan ready for next week’s exciting activites.
We will be having an assembly on Friday 10th June to showcase our work to you! A letter will be coming home soon!
This week has been French week in Y4. We had a visit to the Imagination Studio and had a tour of Paris. Jackson was a little confused and thought we had passed Blackpool tower. Today, we have been making French bread and even tried our hand at French knitting! Looks like Reon will be taking orders soon. Hopefully the bread will be ready to taste tomorrow, that’s as long as Mr Ray doesn’t burn it!
We have kept up our mile runs and now some of us have run half a marathon! All of us can run or walk a mile in the 15 minute session. Well done 2L!
As you can see some of us seem to enjoy it more than others.
A quick update on year 2 gardening….. we have radishes, carrots, sunflowers and peas all starting to shoot. 2L have some beans that we are hardening off before transferring into the beds. Hopefully the nights will be warmer now and this will help our plants to grow.
Year 2 have been looking at habitats around school. We looked at the pond, the field and the woods. These are some of our finds. We were amazed to find a newt and a frog in the woods…not in the pond! We realised that we share our grounds with many creatures.
